María Canela Accesorios is a family-owned business with a handcrafted soul that was born 12 years ago in Rionegro, Antioquia. It seeks to exalt the beauty of Colombian women and the richness of the country’s biodiversity by transforming elements inspired by living nature—such as flowers, birds, and animals—into beautiful pieces of jewelry made with seeds, wood, resins, and waste materials. This project came to life thanks to the unconditional support of the founder’s three children, who since childhood contributed their creativity by coloring, assembling, and packaging each product, and who today, as teenagers, remain steadfast in the family business.
The direction of this initiative was significantly strengthened in 2022 when, through a program by the Rionegro Mayor’s Office focused on entrepreneurial mothers, they connected with Proyecto Vida. Since then, this organization has become a fundamental pillar by providing them with key training in finance and social media, capital injections, and valuable connections in business roundtables with companies from Colombia and the United States. With deep gratitude toward the foundation and its director, José Castañeda—a leader with a great heart—the creator of María Canela Accesorios not only fully trusts the transformative impact of this guidance but has also become an ambassador for the cause, actively recommending other mothers to join Proyecto Vida and find the necessary momentum to see their own dreams flourish
